About Clear Fire Compliance
Clear Fire Compliance is an independent fire risk assessment consultancy covering Hampshire and Dorset. Every assessment is carried out personally by Matt McAllen — a chartered safety professional (CMIOSH) — from the first site visit to the final report. No call centre, no subcontractors, and nothing to sell you except the assessment itself.
Who carries out your assessment
Your assessment is done by Matt McAllen, in person — not handed to whoever's free.
Matt holds CMIOSH (Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health), AIFSM (Associate of the Institute of Fire Safety Managers), and the Level 3 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment. Chartered status is the senior professional grade in occupational safety and health — it's awarded on assessed competence and held to a code of conduct and continuing professional development.
Alongside Clear Fire Compliance, Matt works full-time as a health and safety consultant, delivering commercial fire risk assessments as part of his day-to-day professional practice. That matters: the assessment you get is informed by current, full-time practitioner work — not occasional weekend jobs. Every Clear Fire Compliance assessment is carried out by Matt himself.
Why independence matters
A lot of fire-safety firms also sell alarms, extinguishers, fire doors or remedial works. When the company writing your assessment also profits from what it recommends, the recommendations aren't neutral.
Clear Fire Compliance sells one thing: the assessment. No products, no commissions, no remedial-work upsell. What goes in your report is what your premises genuinely needs to be compliant and safe — nothing added to sell you something later.
How I work
- Fixed, transparent pricing from £199. You see the price before you commit — no "we'll quote after a survey."
- No upfront payment. I assess the premises, send a draft report after the visit, and release the finalised report once the invoice is settled. You're never paying before you've seen the work.
- 100% approval guarantee. If your assessment doesn't pass muster with your enforcing authority on the work I've covered, I put it right.
- 12 months' telephone support. Questions after the report? You've got a year of phone support included — to the person who actually did the assessment.
The standards I work to
Commercial premises are assessed to PAS 79-1:2020; HMOs to BS 9792:2025, with reference to the LACORS housing fire-safety guidance. Everything sits under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 — the law that requires a suitable and sufficient assessment — and the recording duty strengthened by the Building Safety Act 2022.
Where I work
Hampshire and Dorset — across the Hampshire & Isle of Wight and Dorset & Wiltshire fire service areas. Deliberately local, with no mileage charges anywhere in the two counties.
About — your questions
Is it really just one person?
Yes. Matt carries out every assessment personally — you deal with the same person from enquiry to finished report, and for 12 months afterward.
Are you genuinely independent?
Yes. No products, no commissions, no remedial-work upsell. The assessment is the whole service.
What qualifies you to do this?
CMIOSH (Chartered Member of IOSH), AIFSM, and the Level 3 Certificate in Fire Risk Assessment — plus full-time professional fire risk assessment practice.
Why no upfront payment?
Because you shouldn't have to pay before you've seen the work. You get a draft after the visit; the finalised report follows once the invoice is settled.
Ready when you are.
Fixed fire risk assessments from £199, no upfront payment.
